Dear Kids,

This is our Easter egg stash…

About 5 years ago I purchased one (1) dozen plastic Easter eggs for Kitten’s class egg hunt. I have not purchased eggs since.

There are no less than 10 dozen eggs in there. I just counted. To say nothing of the many inferior eggs we threw out and the numerous eggs knocking around under couches and in the bottom of toy boxes.

So many eggs.

How did this happen? My best guess is that Kitten is an egg hunt shark. We send her to school with 1 dozen eggs and she comes home with 2 dozen. She wants ALL the eggs.

Consequently, every year I dip into our egg stash, pull out 12 slightly matching eggs, fill them with leftover Valentine’s Day candy, and send them back to school.

Recycling rocks.

  1. Haha! A good tip. In the UK people tend to buy those big, very expensive chocolate eggs filled with branded candy and hide those. Much prefer the method across the water. Not the boiled egg tradition though. Because yuck.
PS. Is this your third post today or is my reader broken?

  2. HAHA! I love the recycling options for candy
